Morocco

There two images are from my experiences in Morocco, the picture above i didn't exactly know where i was but when i asked the men who took us on the trip they said a 36 day camel ride from Timbuktu and below is the wharf of Esoware.

These pictures are from a series I've been working on of my 2008 trip to Europe. I plan to render the images i produce for my aim of a childrens book in this way.

The first picture is of my cat moving around trying to lick milk off the chair.
The second is a start to how i plan to piece together bits to make the subject better suited to it's setting. To get to a final draft/layout i will follow this method of setting up a still life, drawing then reconfiguring.

missing ears story

My Just A Little Off The Ears comes from something that happened when was little that i decided to illustrate as a practice run (for how i intend on piecing my images together for my picture book) :

Once upon a time, long long ago, I use to ride my bicycle to school and on the way I stopped to pat all the cats. This one was my favorite because he was super stylish, he was the only cat I’ve met with no ears. One day my friend disappeared. My mum told me that cats get cancer to and for that reason sometimes light coloured cats have to get their ears taken off. What i will piece together in the next few posts is what I imagined.

Country Strong

Just a little off the ears is something the country singer Louden Wainwright rambled about between songs, but it is also the title of the painting I'm doing for the cancer council awards.
